My experience with medapplications.com was great. What I liked most about my consultant is that he always responded in time about any concerns that I had. Sometimes it would be about the application process, other times it would be about the interview, and sometimes I would email him just because he offers comforting support and encouragement for me when I feel lost, confused, or not as confident during my application. He even offered words of encouragement and followed up with me afterwards. He is a really good communicator. In terms of his advice, I thought they were very useful and practical. Before working with medapplications, I had a fear of interviews. I’ve had practices with friends and other students, but for some reason I wasn’t able to gain the confidence needed. The mocks first helped me realize my weak points and areas I need to spend the most time with and by practicing with someone who is already in the field, the feedback that I received was extremely helpful. I enrolled with Med Applications one month before my first interview. I had been preparing for interviews by reading books and discussing questions with friends and family, but I was still nervous and didn’t really know what to expect. I felt so much more comfortable after my session with MedApplications. My instructor was very knowledgeable and catered the session to what I needed work on (as I had both panel and MMI interviews, this was particularly beneficial). It was very useful to cover topics with someone who knew what to expect from an interview and could comment on the quality of my answers. All together the experience was extremely helpful and very reassuring; it significantly calmed my nerves during my interviews. There weren’t any questions I was surprised by in my interviews. I would definitely recommend a session for future students.

I enrolled in a MedApplications Interview seminar one month prior to my first medical school interview opportunity.  Before participating in the course, I had very little specific knowledge regarding interview format, question types, emphasis and expectations of the interviewers.  The MedApplications seminar proved invaluable for introducing the type of thought process which is so critical for succeeding in medical school interviews because it taught me a flexible approach that could be applied to a variety of different questions, from medical ethics scenarios to personality evaluations.  My instructor was very well informed about a wide variety of topics that are pertinent to interview preparation, and took a genuine interest for the individual students’ needs. The seminar allowed me to focus my preparation on areas that I wanted to improve and provided a good foundation of knowledge to tackle questions regarding the current state of healthcare in Canada while focusing on specific issues that would be of interest to medical school interviewers.  I gained a great deal of confidence from my MedApplications course and I would highly recommend this to anyone who would like to improve their chances of receiving an offer of admission. This course made all the difference in the world for my chances and I would have been hard-pressed to succeed without this preparation.

The Med Prep Interviews seminar really prepared me well for both the panel and MMI interviews at Ontario medical schools. The seminar was structured enough to go through all the key points (eg. how we should approach ethical questions and how to make our answers stand out) but was also flexible enough to address each of our personal questions and concerns. Having an instructor who had previously been a medical school interviewer was great because he was able to tell us what kinds of things the interviewers are looking for. I also had a one-hour private session with a tutor - this session was really helpful. My tutor and I were able to find ways to connect my previous experiences to medicine and I also got a chance to practice answering questions. Starting in the fall, I will be attending Queen's for their combined MD/PhD program - I couldn't have done it without the knowledge and confidence I gained from attending the Med Prep Interview seminar and private tutor session.

Yesterday I received emails from the Ontario medical schools. I accepted an offer at UofT! I was also accepted at Ottawa and McMaster. Thank you again for all your help in my application and interview preparation – it was instrumental to my success!

As a successful medical school applicant, I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to MedApplications and their consultants for all their help during my interview preparations.
